Sally-Jane is a self-confessed, serial networker! One of the first million globally to use LinkedIn, she still spends all of her available time reaching out to industry specialists and ex-colleagues online, adding connections along the way.
In 2013, after a successful career in emerging technology recruitment Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Asia Pacific spanning 25 years, she took a step sideways to work in-house as global resourcer. During this time she worked closely with stakeholders and HR departments for vendors of software and telecoms applications. These new experiences clearly highlighted the difference between the external and internal recruitment models. The new found knowledge, coupled with her desire to fly the flag for diversity and inclusion after encountering ageism in the workplace, revealed a gap in the market. Sally-Jane’s business focus will be three fold. Firstly, she will assist the growth of Portfolio 17 by attracting new partners to join, thus ensuring benefit from shared intelligence and brand promotion. Secondly, she will liaise with former customers in the global technology sector, and new clients in key vertical markets, to assist their organic growth, merger or acquisition. Sally-Jane will identify “Superstar” candidates to order, engaging with tact and discretion. She will effect these introductions to her clients for permanent placement EMEA, APAC and US. Finally, she plans to continue to work in-house as an interim resource to assist with talent acquisition, head hunting, interviewing and short-listing processes. She firmly believes that these ad hoc services will help to build and cement bridges between her clients’ internal stakeholders and their HR departments. The result should eliminate costs on external recruitment and improve both quality and time to hire.
